A little bird told me that part of the course is copied after sections in Barstow. They went to Barstow OHV Park and meassured some of the race course woops to learn from it and duplicate it at the CORR raceway in Chula Vista.

Are they going to tear this down after the race? There were rumors it was going to be developed for homes.

Its not a rumor, Jim Baldwin said on Speedvision that it is a temporary track. Im sure the locals are gonna go nuts after the first weekend as it is. The area is kinda like the nice parts of Irvine . i head it was in a rough part of town, just the opposite, its very nice there.

??? Barstow would kill a CORR truck.

Why don't they build a track in Hesperia or Barstow? I know its not as nice as San Diego but there is lots of dirt.

I heard it will have two parts to it. One will be tailored towards CORR vehicles and another much longer loop will be favoring desert style vehicles.

Josh Baldwin said that they have implements of destruction scheduled the day after the second weekend to level it.

What I meant is build a track out at the Barstow area.

Klaus: Your little bird is correct. Track designers have visited Barstow OHV Park seeking to build a quality desert track for Chula Vista. The Chula Vista desert track will be approx. 2 miles, and CORR Short Course track will be approx. 1 mile.

scoobs: This track is temporary. New homes will be built on this site within the next year or so. The plan is to build a permanent "Chula Vista International Off Road Raceway" facility not far from this location. The exact site is TBD.

JenDiggityDirt: I live in Chula Vista. In fact just one mile from the track location within Otay Ranch. This is a NEW Master Plan Community just like Irvine, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, etc. This East Chula Vista area is so large; it could stand as its own separate city. In the past five years Chula Vista's population has grown 55,000 in population, 97% of this growth is on the Eastside. Census Bureau show that Chula Vista has emerged as the nation's seventh-fastest-growing city. Mexico is four freeway exits south, Beach is seven miles west, the downtown Gas Lamp Quarters is just 15 - 20 minutes away, and now will be the home to a new Off Road Raceway. Great place to live.

partybarge_pilot: Your right, Barstow would KILL a CORR truck and vise versa, any of CORR's Pro class trucks would KILL ANY desert vehicle on their respective track. That's why there will be one track design specifically for desert class vehicles and one track designed specifically for Short Course vehicles. You will get to see the best of both.

Hope this helps?

Frank

Guess I'm a little behind, I didn't know there were running desert trucks at the race.

If someone can repost the exact time I can record it with my DVR, but I'll need a way to transfer it to something uploadable...
