My mom and dad just got a new 2005 Mustang but with the v-6 cuz they couldnt find any convertible GT's. So I told my dad that Id look into some bolt on power adder's for the new car. It is the 4.0 liter v-6. Is this the same motor that Ford has been putting in the explorers and Rangers? I told him with out going supercharger route that he could do headers and full exhaust, looking into a BAMA chip right now, pulleys, throttle body and an intake system. Does this sound good? What companys would u people suggest for these parts? I was thinking about JBA headers, what about the rest? Thanx.

Trade it in for the v8....seriously why by the v6 then start modding to lose your warranty? In the end you'd have the same power as the v8 with less reliability and worse gas mileage. Also wouldn't suprise me if you end up spending the same or more modding the v6 to v8 power levels.

See its not my car and then they will be upside down. My mom was bitching about a new Mustang so my dad bought her a new one to shut her up. But she wanted a convertible and they tried for weeks for a convertible GT. I told then they should have gotten a GT but hey its their payment. The dealer told them there would be no more until the 06 models come out and they could have custom ordered one but it would be 12 weeks. So i mentioned those power adders as just simple bolt ons. I could say add a supercharger and with those mods I bet it would be real quick but like I said its their car and their power problem. So I thought id do some research for them.

Do the full exhaust, and intake WITH the supercharger. That is the only way that you are going top get the power that you are looking for with the reliability that people want these days. Magna Flow and Flowmaster for mufflers, JBA for headers sounds good and ProCharger for the blower.

Well the parts that I have mentioned I think would work great also a throttle body, why leave it alone? They just want some extra poinies. And the 4.0 Ford v-6 can be pretty nice not v-8 but nice.

IMO, leave your Mom's car alone. Maybe just do exhaust so it sounds cool. (Bet she will more than likely complain about the noise then)
It's bad enough it's a V-6 much less a Ford.
It's like Chrome plating a turd. No matter how shiney it is, it is still a turd.
Nice attitiude. Maybe this was better left unsaid?
