View Full Version : Uniball cup orientation

I haven't seen this discussed much lately. When using uniballs in suspension pivots, the cup has to be oriented so that the snap ring is on the side of least force. This is because the snap ring groove side is weaker than the solid lip side. Are the following statements correct, or is this stinkin' thinkin'?

1) On a buggy trailing arm, when used for the inner pivot, the ring should face inward.

2) On A-arm pivots, the ring should face rearward.

3) On spindle uprights, the ring should face down for horizontal uniballs, forward when the vertical uniballs are in the arms, and rearward when the vertical uniballs are in the uprights.

I hope I got that right. Let's hear it...
