I am selling parts off of a beetle thats been sitting in my garage forever to build up money for my truck, I have someone that wants the beam, but I can't get it off. I don't have a compressed air set up, so no air hammer, but I do have the pickle forks and a hammer. Was thinking I would run to home depot and get some WD-40 (don't know why I don't have any)and let it sit overnight, is there any other chemical better for the job? Am I doing it wrong all together?

Thanks in advance,
Brandon

Get a large hammer and hit the spindle on the side where the tie rod goes through, works everytime. Hit it at a angle from the bottom lip/side carefull not to hit the tie rod threads.

Better yet, two big hammers and a friend. Have the friend hold one of the hammers against the side of the steering arm. Hit the opposite side with the other hammer.
