I'm talking 3x3 rear arms for a pre-runner baja bug, long spine axels, standard bering housing, with rear disc brakes,,, How strong are the chromolly boxed arms vs the woods,or other brand of tubular arms for this application?? I have to stay with the long spline set up, as it would be far to expensive to go to a full floter or even micro stubs, right now.. Who makes the STRONGEST set up for this application??

Any good set of name brand arms (no imported junk) will be fine since the weak point will be in the 30-year old VW parts you insist on running. I did a cost comparison a while ago and the price at Kartek for micro stubs, brakes and arms wasn't really that much more compared to buying VW stubs, big disc brakes(comparable), bearings, spacers, arms and whatever else. Unless you plan on running Bug drum brakes (why?) the cost is close. If you opt for the VW set up now but want to increase travel and strength later, none of the parts will transfer to micro stub.

No Mike I wont...I will be there helping Mark and whoever needs it.. I've been pushing hard to get this done, and I bend a rear trailing arm testing. Mild steel 3x3..I want to take a break,, do some homework, and find out wich is the best way to go for what I have....
