01 Chevy S-10 ext cab.

Whenever i turn at full lock in either direction i get a clicking noise with the front end. It sounds like its coming more from the hubs. I pulled off the hub cabs and drove it and the problem is still there. Any idea's, possible wheel bearings or a ball joint?

Thanks

Is the front end stock or modified?

Bone stock, 60000miles on it.

When I first picked up my ranger it was doing the same thing. It was the wheel bearings.

I think that year S-10 had a recall on the flux-capacitor....you need to drain the electrolyte from the main capillary tube and pull 28" of vacuum for 30 minutes.....refill it with an approved graphite based lubricant and it should be good.... :D

seriously....check the steering stops as Matt suggested....same problem on Toyota 4x's....loud "pop" or creaking at full turn.....there should be a block or bolt on the spindle with a corresponding contact point on the lower a-arm....put some grease on those bad boys and it should help.....

probably those sorry **BAN ME****BAN ME****BAN ME****BAN ME****BAN ME** sealed hubs they used on the s series, oddly enough 60,000 miles is when their supposed to be shot too

either that of the muffler bearings took a turn for the worse...

jack up your truck and get under it. grab a wheel and turn it to full lock. the point at which the spindle contacts the lower control arm is where you want to put grease, turn the wheel the other way and do the same. do this on both sides of the truck.
