C4 in a newer Ranger [Archive]

I have a 1997 4.0L Ranger with the 5 speed auto right now and I have a feeling its just not gonna hold up. Anyone have the 411 on this swap? I heard a rumor that its a real pain in the ass and almost not even worth the head ache....true?!?!?!?!? Any shops done this before? Contact info?

Call steve culhane 909 678 1669,hes in lake elsinore and builds lots of race teams trans. I dont really know about 97 but my 94 4.0 5 speed swap was very easy.

that 5 spd auto trans has alot of electronics that are linked to the computer so do some research on the computer thing you may have to switch to and older computer and wire harness? other then that its all about changing out parts. your speedo may be an issue to?

YA this is more of what I've heard....wonder how much work is involved in this....gotta call Culhane
