parts in the air cleaner

can anyone tell me what the various parts connected by vacuum in the air cleaner do? i disconnected them all to switch to a different air cleaner assembly, in the hopes of making more room under the hood....truck runs fine when it's warm, but terrible hesitation when cold. i know one connects to the hot air intake off of the exhaust, (but that hasn't been connected to the header for awhile) but it also connects to the other part, which i'm guessing is more important than i thought http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif...

man, i yanked all that crap off my motor so many years ago i cant even remember what all used to be there...lol....sorry man.

just get one of the dumb haynes manuals from pepboys and look at the vac diagrams. it will tell you whats what.

damn, i completely forgot there was a vacuum diagram in there. it had nothing at all about the air cleaner otherwise.
