1994 Ranger ex-cab with National LT pack and King smoothsides.
I have some 2" air bumps and know you typically want to mount them outside of the frame rail. Only problem is shocks are mounted directly to the spring plate at the axle and I'm running 33x 12.50s-no room. Any problems mounting them to the inside of the frame rail and welding a plate and gusset to the axle?

no theres no problem in doing that, what alot of ranger guys do also is to notch the frame rail and sink the bumpstop can into the frame and then plate it all up. thats what i would do.

and dont forget to make a good thick striker plate on the axle so you dont dent the tubes.
