I bought a 1998 GMC Z-71 last week and I hate the GM stinkbug effect. Rather than lifting the front to level it, I was wondering if 2 inch drop shackles would work. My real question is are 2wd leafs and 4wd leafs the same width. In the SUMMIT catalog they do not specify if the shackles will work on a 4x4 also. Thanks in advance.

the leafs are the same width. you can also crank the torsions a bit for an inch or so without really affecting cv life or ride quality too much.

the shackle idea should work.

The shackle idea is a good solution to leveling it out and keeping that nice ride up front. The only downside is you will be more prone to bottoming out easier in the rear since the axle is now that much closer to the bumstops. Shouldnt be a big issue though.
