guys,
1. Where should I get a good performance built chevy 350 or LT-1, LT-4 or even LS engine ?
2. My budget for the good performance engine is 5K.
3. Who is the current shop that is performing well in this area
4. Please don't give me NUMBER ONE list such as SONY RACING, LINGENFELTER, etc

To stay in that budget you might just buy a crate motor at the best price you can, including shipping, and have a good local engine builder go through it. He would not necessarily have to know Chevy motors. Otherwise it would be hard to keep it under 5K. There are many variations of CRATE MOTORS (http://www.gmpartsdepot.com/store/category.aspx?SID=2&Category_ID=2&) around that price range.

I have been purchasing crate engines thru SUMMIT RACING, etc. But it is a crate engine which you can not tailor made.
This is what I am looking :
OPTION 1.
Chevy 350 Base engine, 4 bolt,
Alum Heads, with good flow porting jobs,
Comp ratio 10.5 (10 to 10.5), Good piston
Lightened Crankshaft, 383 Stroker kits
Roller Camshafts, Good Valves
Torque range 2750-3500 RPM, Max engine rev at 6500 to 7000 RPM
Will be using manual trans, 31 tires, 4,56 gearing
Using INJECTION Intake, Accu Fab Throttle Body (or others)
Usage some sort of Jeep Speep.
Any Idea ?
OPTION 2.
You guys tell me what base motor should I use.

Yes, I did visit the web.
My questions is from your guys experiences, who is a good reputable engine builder ?
I mean like West Side Performance, MCLURE Racing, etc.
Any recommendation (Contact Name and Phone number ?)

when you are building a motor you get what you pay for... the 2 guys used by most of the off-road industry are shaver racing engines and leon patton, but i don't think you can even call those guys for $5k!!!
