will a 68 bronco 3rd member gonna fit in a new 9" housing. im planning on getting a new complete 9" really soon and i have the 68 bronco 3rd member in my garage. im jusgt wondering about the the actual case cause i knowill need to re gear it. Also, will a 9" 3rd member fit in a dana 60 housing?

gregg, the dana 60 dosent even have a drop out 3rd member, so thats a no-go, and the 68 bronco 3rd member.........is it a 9"? i would assume so, and if it is it will fit as far as i know in any other 9" axle housing. they should all be the same bolt pattern i believe.

alright, i asked about the dana 60 cause that is the type of rearend the currie " prerunner" rear end is, or atleast thats what the description says it is. and yes the 68 rear end is a 9"

A 9" is a 9" as far as fitting into the housing. Now you need to know which splines the axles and the diff are. If the EB part is stock then it's most likely a 28 spline unit. I wouldn't have axles built for that.

yeah i planned on only using the case and having the entire 3rd member redone to what ever spline i get.
